Avelar, Team Participates in Lewis University Plane Pull

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. —  In support of Special Olympics Illinois, state Rep. Dagmara Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, and her staff participated in Lewis University’s third annual Plane Pull event.

“Special Olympics Illinois plays a pivotal role in the wellbeing of our communities by empowering people with disabilities to realize their full potential in sports and everyday life,” Avelar said. “My team and I were overjoyed to support this fantastic organization and put our strength to the test by pulling a United Airlines aircraft 12 feet. I encourage everyone to support Special Olympics Illinois in any way they can.”

Avelar and team raised $500 for Special Olympic Illinois and won third place in the Plane Pull competition.
